National Standards For Freight Elevator Dimensions: Dimension Standards And Load Capacity Schemes

Classification Standards for Freight Elevators

According to the national standard GB/T7025, elevators are classified into five categories, with Class IV elevators specifically designed for transporting goods that are usually accompanied by personnel. The parameters for this type of elevator have been expanded in the latest revision, adding key data such as rated load capacity of 3000kg and 5000kg, and rated speed of 0.25m/s.

Core Dimensions Standards for the Car

Internal Dimensions: Common freight elevator car widths include 1550mm, 1850mm, and 2000mm, while the depth is customized according to actual needs.

Door Opening Dimensions: The width of the car door must be greater than the width of the goods. Standard specifications include 1200mm, 1400mm, and 1500mm, among others, to ensure smooth loading and unloading.

Bottom Space: The standard pit height (distance from the bottom of the car to the bottom of the pit) is 1700mm, 1800mm, and 2000mm, directly affecting the feasibility of elevator installation.

Supporting Space Specifications

Top Space: The distance between the top of the car and the top surface of the floor slab is typically designed to be 3300mm or 3500mm, while also accommodating the installation requirements of headroom equipment.

Shaft Requirements: Must comply with the special provisions of GB/T7588.1-2020 for freight elevators, including safety elements such as shaft load-bearing capacity and emergency stop devices.

Evolution of Safety Standards The newly implemented GB/T7588.1-2020 standard integrates international experience in elevator safety technology development and systematically standardizes:

Risk Classification Methods

New Safety Protection Measures

Verification Provisions This standard replaces the original GB7588-2003 and GB21240-2007, reflecting the latest requirements for the safety management of 8 million elevators in use in my country.

Special Load Capacity Schemes
In response to the needs of heavy cargo transportation, the current standard has specifically added:

5000kg load capacity configuration

Low-speed operation scheme (0.25m/s)

Safety positioning design for accompanying personnel

Through the establishment of the above national standard system, my country has become one of the countries with the most comprehensive elevator safety management in the world, providing strong protection for the safe production of the logistics and transportation industry.
