Machine Room
The machine room should be managed by maintenance and repair personnel. Unauthorized personnel are not permitted to enter. The machine room should be locked and marked with "Machine Room - Restricted Access, No Unauthorized Personnel Allowed."
The machine room must be protected from rain and snow intrusion. It should be well-ventilated and insulated. It should be kept clean, dry, and free of dust, smoke, and corrosive gases. Only tools and equipment necessary for inspection and maintenance should be present; no other items should be stored there.
A fire extinguisher capable of extinguishing electrical fires should be provided in the machine room.
When the elevator is not in use for an extended period, the main power switch for the machine room should be turned off.
No miscellaneous items, water pipes, or gas pipelines should be stored in the hoistway except for the specified elevator equipment.
The hoistway should be kept clean and free of dust and ash.
The guide rails and door tracks should be kept clean, and the oil levels in all oil boxes should be appropriate.
The hoistway lighting, car top lighting, and pit lighting should provide sufficient illumination. Damaged bulbs and switches should be replaced promptly.
The pit should be easily accessible, free of debris and standing water, and should be regularly cleaned to maintain cleanliness.
